let it go.

Lately it seems as though life has been a whirlwind. There’s something about September that seems to make people nostalgic, and there’s a certain crispness in the air that brings about a sense of clarity, somehow. I feel as if I’ve been simultaneously rooting down and reaching out, expanding equally in both directions, cultivating this precious balance that can so easily tip too far one way or another. These days, writing has been replaced by reading, playing, dancing, singing until my throat hurts, but alas, there comes a time when I feel a tug at my heartstrings to place my fingers to a keyboard and create once more.

As I watch the autumn leaves deepen into brilliant reds and deep golds before falling away from the branch that has nurtured them for so long, I am gently reminded that there is no better time than now to let go of anything that is not serving you. Forget what is haunting you, holding you back, preventing you from chasing the dreams that are rightfully yours. Forgive those who have hurt you. Release yourself from blame.

One thing I have learned for certain is that you create the vision, and it comes. The power of intention can and will lead to manifestation. You, and only you, are granted full responsibility for taking ownership of who and how you choose to be in this world. Seeing the glass as half-full or half-empty is a decision that you make depending on how you want and expect to live your life. And as terrifying as this can be, there is also a delicious sense of freedom and liberation in the knowledge that the beauty of each day depends solely on the lens through which you see it. But most often this process begins with letting go, and creating space for new things to grow. You’ll be amazed at what can take root and flourish, and the amazing person that you can blossom into.
